Awards

Outstanding dissertations can be recommended for distinction with the ETH medal. The corresponding information of the ETH Zurich Academic Services are found here (only available in German).

The doctoral studies panel considers in particular the following criteria for the evaluation of the dissertations proposed for distinction:

• Scope and quality of the recognizable scientific contribution of the doctoral student
  
• Scientific quality of the dissertation
• Publication of dissertation results in at least one high-impact journal
• Duration of the thesis
