The first year

In the first year of study all students take the same basic course of study. The first year is designed to convey to all undergraduates a solid and in-depth knowledgebase in natural sciences upon which the rest of their education will be based. Lectures in biology, mathematics, chemistry and physics provide required lab supplements during which learned theory is applied. Practical experience is also highly valued: in both the first and second semesters of the first year, undergraduates are required to complete a laboratory internship where a wide range of skills are practiced.
