For the first time ETH Zurich is inviting applications for a chair in Genome Biology. This was made possible by donations from the NOMIS and the Lotte and Adolf Hotz-Sprenger Foundations.

During the "Life Sciences Switzerland" Annual Meeting 2017 that took place from 2 to 3 February on the University of Zurich's Irchel Campus, the Lelio Orci Award was given to Markus Aebi, professor at the Institute of Microbiology of ETH Zurich.

As per 1 February 2017 Federica Sallusto has taken up her position as Professor of Medical Immunology in the Institute of Microbiology at the  Department of Biology.
